Andrea is a pre and postnatal fitness specialist, and is a featured writer and contributor for Parenting Magazine, Fit Pregnancy Magazine, and The Tot.
Andrea is the creator and star of the hit prenatal series, Fit Pregnancy Plan, which is a 12 video workout series that safely and effectively sculpts and strengthens the body throughout all three trimesters of pregnancy. This is the first workout series that takes you through this workout journey in real time with Andrea while she is pregnant herself. Andrea realizes not everyone can travel to the studio to get a Speir Method workout in, which is why she created SPTV that features online workouts of various lengths and incorporates signature props, style, and top Speir teachers. Keeping in line with Andrea's mission of making incredible fitness training accessible to everyone, she decided to take 40 hours of high end training videos and make them all free on YouTube. Jeni, a So Cal native, grew up dancing and being active from an early age. She danced competitively and professionally for 18+ years, almost scoring the leading role in the move "Step Up.." She majored in fashion and worked in the apparel industry for four years until she realized that she was missing the amazing feeling that dance and being active would make her feel throughout the day. She decided to take a chance and leave the apparel industry to go back to her roots.
Jeni is a senior teacher and teacher trainer at Speir.
Her upbeat and supportive attitude makes you not only want to come to her class every day for the challenging workout and playlist, but also to spend time around her completely amazing personality. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Alyssa began dancing at the early age of three years old. Her true love of performing allowed her to begin competing in dance at age 8, where she went on to win national scholarships and awards with her competitive team over the next 10 years. Her love of dance led her to the University of California, Irvine, where she graduated with a B.A. in dance and a minor in education. A serious hip injury during her junior year of college forced Alyssa to undergo surgery and take time away from school to recover. After using Pilates as a form of rehabilitation to learn to walk again from surgery in less than three short months, Alyssa knew that her calling was to educate and lead others towards living a stronger, happier life through fitness.
After graduating from UC Irvine in 2010, Alyssa continued to teach Pilates and dance professionally in Los Angeles. With years of successful dancing on television with Disney, performing in commercials for products like Sensa, and touring with rising artists across the country under her belt, Alyssa made the difficult decision to retire from dance to focus on teaching. Her love and passion for dance and fitness has continued to drive her as an incredible Pilates and Barre instructor throughout Los Angeles. Alyssa's nurturing but upbeat personality attracts clients to her classes where she pushes them out of their comfort zone and into a place of strength and growth. With Alyssa's musicality from dance, fierce personality from competing and performing, and extensive understanding of the body from fitness and wellness, Alyssa is a force in the classroom!

Jessi Lucatorto began dancing at the age of three, which quickly turned into a deep passion. When Jessi was 10 years old, she was diagnosed with scoliosis. Although dance did not help the back pain, it kept her grounded. When Jessi was 15 years old she trained at Alvin Ailey’s American Dance Theater in New York City. She returned to Southern California to perform with her dance company before her first spine surgery in 2007. This was an absolute heartbreak.
After a few months, Jessi went back to her dance routine but her body could not take the intensity of her previous dance practice. Before her second spine surgery in 2009, Jessi was introduced to Pilates. Once she started a regular Pilates regime, her body and spirit improved quickly allowing her to study Dance at the University of Arizona.
In her senior year of college, she decided to pursue her Pilates career and take an intensive instructor training program. After college, Jessi also studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to better coach her clients in a more holistic approach.
Jessi's quick wit and contagious sense of humor fits perfectly with her bold, bright teaching style (which always boost the energy and mood of the room). She enjoys challenging her clients and pushing them to the next level.
Jessi is a certified kettlebell pro, which is what initially caught Andrea Speir's eye and wow'ed her with the multitude of skills she brings to the table. Not only is Jessi a killer Pilates teacher and practitioner, but her cardio, HIIT, tabata and personal training knowledge combined with her expertise in yoga has made her an all around fitness expert. This is what makes her classes so creative, always challenging and so much fun.
Kristen is a senior teacher and teacher trainer at Speir Pilates, as well as being the co-founder of The Pilates Fix with Andrea Speir. She co-created the DVD’s "Trim, Tighten & Tone” with Andrea Speir (Best DVD of the year with Pilates Style Magazine in 2016), and “Sculpt & Sweat,” an instant hit and industry favorite for the Pilates circle-based, athletic workouts. She also shares her love of all things health and wellness as a contributor to sites like MindBodyGreen.com, Pravassa.com, and Pilatesstyle.com - and has also appeared in major features with Pilates Style magazine.
After graduating from the University of Vermont, Kristen moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and began taking Pilates as a way to find relief from her own back injuries.
Encouraged by her progress, Kristen wanted to share Pilates with others. She completed a 600-hour classical teaching certification from Power Pilates in New York City in 2003, where she studied under celebrated teachers Bob Liekens and Susan Moran.
Kristen’s curiosity and thirst for knowledge grows every year. In 2010 she completed a 200-hour yoga training with James Brown and in 2012 got certified to teach The Booty Barre. In 2014 Kristen completed the 360° Pilates immersion. This comprehensive continuing-education program, created by Benjamin Degenhardt, was designed to bridge the original concepts and teachings of Joseph Pilates with modern movement science.
Most recently she finished the AFS training program with The Grey Institute and the Precision Nutrition certification for sports nutrition. In addition to her collection of certifications, Kristen most recently has become specialty certified in post-natal recovery and women’s wellness with a focus on the fitness elements.

Kit’s ability to command a room and connect with every single person she meets makes her classes more than just effective, you feel as though you’ve just met your new best friend.
We aren’t the only ones who think Kit is the creme de la creme, Kit was recently named one of the top 5 trainers in Los Angeles by Shape Magazine and made it to the top 20 of Oprah’s “Be the Next TV Star.” She has partnered with Lucy Activewear to create “Fit by Kit” featuring her workouts, writing and more. Women’s Health Magazine chose her as one of the top next fitness stars, and the list doesn’t end there. Kit has been featured on E!, Access Hollywood, The Today Show, Extra and more. She is a top celeb trainer in LA, traveling with and training Jennifer Lawrence and touring with Ke$ha as her private trainer.
So yeah, I think you get it - Kit’s kinda the jam. Crazy amazing celeb status aside, Kit is a beautiful soul who is here to inspire you to be the best you. She doesn’t adhere to the “get skinny” approach to fitness, she instead is here to help you get strong, fit, find your own inner athlete and make you laugh and smile the whole time on your journey with her. If you are in LA and you haven’t taken a Kit class, get your booty to Speir because she will literally change your world. If you don’t live in LA, it’s seriously worth the flight here. Yeah, we’ve got a girl crush. We aren’t too proud to admit it.
Dancing pro Giovanna first started shakin’ it in her dance shoes at the age of 3 in Buffalo, NY. From there she went on to get her B.F.A. in dance at Ohio State, where she was first introduced to Pilates as a way to build true core strength that even hours of physical movement couldn’t get her.
After realizing the incredible benefits of Pilates and this method of focused movement, she studied hard to receive her full comprehensive certification from Stott Pilates. This ignited a passion for teaching and learning about other styles of physical movement, so G got her certification in TRX as well.
The bug for the stage was still strong, and G went on to perform in the prestigious Las Vegas Michael Jackson tribute show. She also choreographed for the Nevada Ballet and Cirque de Soleil. Her ability to understand the body, combined with her sense of humour and extensive knowledge of Pilates and fitness makes her the incredible teacher that she is. We are thrilled to have her on the Speir Squad here in Santa Monica.

Your favorite booty kicker Becky started young as a competitive dancer in Massachusetts. Learning how to commit to hard work with a focus on mind-body connection helped Becky learn the magic, strength and grace that a body can exude. Once in college, Becky searched for a type of movement that could not only keep her strong and healthy, but also make her body healthy and feel fantastic without overly working it or burning it out...enter Pilates. She quickly realized this was something she could do everyday, no matter what time of day and do nothing but fall deeper in love with it.
Becky moved to CA in 2009 and obtained her full comprehensive certification. Having the background of an athlete combined with a true understanding of how to not only beautifully teach Pilates, but also make it challenging and fun at the same time is what truly makes Becky shine brightly when she’s got that mic on, that music going, and eager Pilates practitioners on their reformers. Becky is such an extraordinary gal, she not only rocks it out as one of the premiere Pilates instructors on the west coast, she also works as a labor and delivery nurse at UCLA, is a huge lover of animals, and could live off candy. For real. I mean, there is literally nothing not to love about Becky with the good hair.
Amira is a California native who spent the last 10 years living the relentless, unforgiving and totally magical grind of New York City. She made it back back to Cali Cali, but will have you sweating in a New York minute!
She first started practicing Pilates in 2009 at Core Pilates NYC. From her first class, she was hooked and faithfully worked on her own practice in the classical mat systems. But it wasn’t until Pilates helped her recover from surgery that she decided to pursue Pilates professionally and learn all apparatus. Law degree notwithstanding, Amira enrolled in the Core Pilates NYC 600-hour comprehensive teacher training program. Through that program, she gained an in depth understanding of the way Pilates advocates for the body, both on and off the mat. She can talk endlessly about her passion for Pilates, loves taking classes and fully geeks out about variations and modifications. Her teaching philosophy is to keep classes fun and challenging so that you leave each class feeling both accomplished and aspirational.
She also can’t say no to peanut butter, loves hosting dinner parties and takes her playlists very seriously.

Danethon Hasselhoff Sorensen was born in a small town on the plains of Illinois where he was raised on a government-owned soybean farm. Despite the long hours of manual labor on the farm, Dane also had the energy to pour his passion into dance.
After receiving multiple accolades in the creative arts throughout his youth, he took his passion to New York City where he attended the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at NYU, majoring in Tribal African Dance. After what some fans described as “the performance of a lifetime,” and critics cited as “a dangerous amount of twerking,” Dane decided to go out on top and take his skills to the West Coast.
This is when Dane discovered his unbridled and raw talent for being body painted. From there, his backup dancing career skyrocketed. However trouble was around the corner for this painted muse when Puff Daddy become, what tabloids described as, “borderline obsessive”. Dane knew it was time for the next step, so he moved seamlessly into the most similar career: Pilates.
Marina is a Los Angeles native who had a stint in San Francisco, where she graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BA in Communications and minor in Public Relations. Life took some unexpected turns while in San Francisco, and Marina found herself back in Los Angeles in 2009- little did she know this would be the best thing life dealt her.
Once back in LA, Marina discovered Pilates and knew she had stumbled upon something truly transformative- both physically and mentally. The method reminds her of all the aspects she loved and missed from her competitive gymnast days; it is a method that leaves you feeling strong, stretched, focused and happy. Marina’s passion for instructing is eternally growing, as she makes continued education a priority for her development as an Instructor.
She recently completed 60 hours in the Complete Pilates Method with Chris Robinson in San Diego, and continues to train under her mentor. Her continuous training keeps her constantly learning about her own body which helps her have a deeper connection to understanding her clients bodies. Marina believes that leading an active lifestyle helps produce true internal happiness and is always encouraging clients to be the best versions of themselves. With her knowledge of the classical method, positive attitude, and challenging workouts she keeps her clients motivated to attain their personal goals! When Marina is not in the studio teaching she enjoys hiking, boxing, spending time with Bentley (her fur baby), traveling, and exploring all around LA carrying her camera in hand to capture anything that may catch her eye and inspire!

Irene began practicing Pilates in 1998 while attaining a Bachelor’s degree in dance at University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Irene became intrigued by the technique as she felt her own body becoming stronger. With her background in movement, and her experience teaching all types of dance, she designs sessions that have a unique flow and emphasis on alignment and precision.
Irene is now an Assistant Teacher on the Pilates Technique Certification program with Jill Cassady and Nancy Preimesberger, based here at CPB.
